In today's market it is very common for you the buyer, to be selling your home “contingent” or if not, for the homes you are looking to buy, those sellers selling “contingent”. A contingency is just another word for a clause. In this example a contingency with regards to a sale would mean, the person either buying or selling has to complete an additional task before consummating the sale. i.e. if they are buying a home, they need to sell a home first. Or if they are selling a home, they need to sell and also find a replacement home during that time.
Whichever side you are on, these transactions can be tricker than most, but when you are working with someone like us who has lots of experience in this arena you can rest assured the process will be as smooth and streamlined as possible.
